Visit of Dr. Inna Alimi, Director of Standard and Quality Assurance, BOSCHMA, to State Specialist Hospital Maiduguri 08/08/2024
Dr. Inna Alimi, the Director of Standard and Quality Assurance at the Borno State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (BOSCHMA), visited the State Specialist Hospital on August 8, 2024. The purpose of her visit was to assess the satisfaction of BOSCHMA beneficiaries with the services provided at the hospital and identify areas that may need improvement.
Upon her arrival, Dr. Alimi met with the hospital's BOSCHMA focal person, Ibrahim Mustapha Bongomi. After a discussion with him, she conducted a thorough inspection of the hospital wards, interacting directly with the beneficiaries. During her visit, she emphasized the importance of ensuring that BOSCHMA beneficiaries receive adequate medical care and that there are no stock shortages of essential drugs. To this end, she held a meeting with the Head of the Pharmacy Department, Ms. Alheri, stressing the need for assurance that beneficiaries receive enough medication without encountering any "out of stock" situations. Additionally, Dr. Alimi met with the Medical Director, Dr. B. Shehu, to further discuss the overall service quality provided to beneficiaries.
During her round in the orthopedic ward, Dr. Alimi had a touching encounter with a beneficiary named Modu. Modu shared a heartbreaking story about his struggles. He mentioned that before a tragic incident, his three children were attending school. However, due to the incident, he was forced to withdraw them from school. Modu explained that it was a difficult decision, but a necessary one, as his children now have to engage in small businesses like selling pure water and others to support the family.
Dr. Alimi was deeply moved by Modu's story. She assured him that BOSCHMA is committed to supporting beneficiaries like him and that all his medical bills would be covered, from his stay in the hospital to his discharge and return home. Dr Alimi was accompanied by Halima Usman, Referral Officer of the agency.
This visit highlights BOSCHMA's dedication to ensuring that beneficiaries receive the best possible care and support during their time of need.
