BOSCHMA and NHIA Conduct Facility Reaccreditation Visits for Continued BHCPF Services The Borno State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (BOSCHMA), in collaboration with the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) Borno State Office, has embarked on statewide facility visits to conduct reaccreditation exercises in line with the NHIA–BHCPF Operational Guidelines. This exercise is essential for Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) to maintain their accreditation status and continue providing services under the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF). The visits are aimed at ensuring that facilities meet the required standards of service delivery, infrastructure, and manpower necessary to provide quality healthcare to BHCPF enrollees. The team also reviewed compliance with NHIA–BOSCHMA guidelines, availability of essential drugs and commodities, as well as record-keeping and financial accountability. During the exercise, the team emphasized that reaccreditation is a crucial step toward expanding coverage and reducing out-of-pocket health expenditures for residents, particularly in light of current economic challenges. Only facilities that meet the set standards will be approved to continue delivering uninterrupted access to affordable healthcare services. The initiative underscores the joint commitment of NHIA and BOSCHMA to strengthening quality and affordable healthcare, enhancing access, and advancing universal health coverage (UHC) in Borno State and across Nigeria.
