*NHIA North East Zone Delegation Assesses BOSCHMA’s Performance* As part of efforts to evaluate State Social Health Insurance Authorities (SSHIA), the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) North East Zonal Coordinator, Danjuma Ezekiel, led a delegation to the Borno State Contributory Health Care Management Agency (BOSCHMA) for an assessment of its activities and impact over the years. Accompanying him were consultants from Peltom Global Services (PGS), alongside the NHIA Borno State Coordinator, Mallam Ahmad SD Jamal, and Dr. Adamu Ma’aji, Head of Standards and Quality Assurance. During the visit, BOSCHMA’s management team provided a comprehensive briefing on the agency’s achievements, challenges, and ongoing initiatives aimed at expanding access to quality healthcare for vulnerable populations in Borno State. The delegation also conducted facility assessments, reviewed financial disbursements, and examined the effectiveness of BOSCHMA’s operational framework. The visit highlighted the crucial collaboration between NHIA and BOSCHMA in strengthening the state’s healthcare system, ensuring efficient fund utilization, and improving service delivery. The NHIA team commended BOSCHMA’s commitment to healthcare development and assured continued support to enhance healthcare financing and accessibility across the state.
