Newly Appointed BOSCHMA Board Chairperson Visits the Agency The newly appointed Board Chairperson of the Borno State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (BOSCHMA), Hajiya Mairo Bunu Lawan, paid a familiarization visit to the agency’s headquarters. She was warmly received by the Executive Secretary, Dr. Saleh Abba Kaza, who provided an overview of BOSCHMA’s mandate, key operational strategies, and milestones achieved since its establishment in 2020. Dr. Kaza also outlined some of the challenges the agency has faced, including the infrastructural damage caused by the September 2024 flood incident, which significantly disrupted operations. In her remarks, Hajiya Mairo expressed her sympathy over the disruption and assured the agency that the state government is taking steps to support the repair and rehabilitation of the affected facilities. She commended the agency’s efforts so far and urged all staff to continue working diligently to distinguish BOSCHMA as a model institution, different from other workplaces in the state. She further assured the staff of a harmonious working relationship built on mutual respect, teamwork, and shared commitment to the agency’s vision. The visit concluded with staff introductions and a collective pledge of support to the new Chairperson, reaffirming their readiness to work collaboratively in advancing BOSCHMA’s mandate of equitable and affordable healthcare for all.
