Day 2 of BOSCHMA Study Tour Visit to Yobe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (YSCHMA). The Borno State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (BOSCHMA) in collaboration with the Yobe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (YSCHMA) paid a courtesy visit to key healthcare institutions in Yobe State as part of a joint study tour and knowledge-sharing exercise. The team visited the Chief Medical Director of Yobe State Teaching Hospital, the Medical Director of State Specialist Hospital, and the Nayi Nawa Primary Health Care Centre to learn from YSCHMA’s operational experiences and best practices. As part of the engagement, there was a presentation by the Deputy Director, Standards and Quality Assurance, on referral and claims processing, and another by the Director of ICT on the digital portal system used for managing all YSCHMA activities. The visit also featured a departmental discussion with the Finance Department, focusing on accountability, sustainability, and financial management within the health insurance system. The study tour provided a valuable opportunity for both agencies to share insights, strengthen inter-state collaboration, and improve the effectiveness of contributory health schemes in the region.
