Following the sensitization training organized by the Executive Secretary of BOSCHMA, Dr. Saleh Abba Kaza, in collaboration with World Health Organization, BOSCHMA staff have embarked on awareness campaigns across their respective communities and schools to educate the public on cholera prevention and control.

The sensitization exercise is aimed at increasing public awareness about the dangers of cholera, its modes of transmission, symptoms, and preventive measures. During the outreach sessions, staff educated community members, students, and teachers on the importance of maintaining good hygiene practices, drinking safe water, proper handwashing with soap, and keeping the environment clean to prevent the spread of the disease.

Speaking during the training, Dr. Saleh Abba Kaza urged all staff members to serve as health ambassadors within their communities by sharing the knowledge acquired and encouraging residents to adopt healthy practices. He emphasized that community participation is essential in preventing cholera outbreaks and protecting public health.

The sensitization activities were well received by community members and school authorities, who expressed appreciation to BOSCHMA for its commitment to promoting health awareness and safeguarding the wellbeing of the people of Borno State.

BOSCHMA remains committed to supporting government efforts and working with partners to improve health outcomes through continuous public health education and awareness campaigns.
