The Borno State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (BOSCHMA) has organized a one-day capacity-building workshop on Financial Management for Medical Directors (MDs), Principal Medical Officers (PMOs), Accounts, Focal Persons, Hospital Secretaries, Auditors ,Heads of Pharmacy, and representatives of the Borno State Drugs Management Agency (BODMA) from piloting health facilities.

The workshop, held in a hybrid format, was designed to strengthen financial accountability, transparency, and efficient resource management within participating healthcare facilities.

In his welcome address, the Executive Secretary of BOSCHMA reaffirmed the Agency's commitment to promoting sound financial management practices that will enhance service delivery, improve accountability, and ensure the effective utilisation of healthcare resources across the state.

The workshop was chaired by the Director of Finance and Accounts, Yada Babakura Imam, who delivered a presentation titled "Strengthening Accountability and Compliance in Facility Financial Management." During her presentation, she highlighted the importance of adhering to financial regulations, maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring transparency in the management of funds, and promoting accountability at the facility level.

Participants engaged in interactive discussions on best practices in financial management, compliance with established guidelines, and strategies for improving financial governance in healthcare facilities.

The workshop concluded with participants reaffirming their commitment to implementing the knowledge gained to strengthen financial management systems, enhance accountability, and improve the quality of healthcare service delivery across the piloting facilities.
