BOSCHMA Organizes 5-Day Sensitization Workshop for Civil Servants on Formal Sector Scheme The Borno State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (BOSCHMA) has organized a five-day Sensitization Workshop for Civil Servants on the Formal Sector Health Scheme. The workshop aimed to educate civil servants on the benefits, processes, and implementation of the scheme, in line with the drive towards achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC). The programme commenced with a welcome address by the Board Chairperson of BOSCHMA, Hajiya Mairo Bunu Lawan, followed by opening remarks from the Honourable Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Prof. Baba Mallam Gana. The Head of Service, Dr. Mohammed Ghuluze, who served as the Guest of Honour, declared the workshop open. Goodwill messages were delivered by key stakeholders and partners, including the NLC Chairman, NHIA Coordinator, representatives of Lafiya-UK, and the World Health Organization (WHO), all of whom emphasized the importance of the scheme in improving access to quality healthcare. The Executive Secretary of BOSCHMA, Dr. Saleh Abba Kaza, presented an overview of the formal sector contributory health scheme. Dr. Inna Alimi, Director of Standard and Quality Assurance, highlighted the Basic Minimum Package under the scheme, while Mustapha Mohammed, the Head of ICT, made a practical presentation on the enrollment process. The workshop also featured an interactive question-and-answer session, which allowed participants to seek clarifications and contribute ideas for effective implementation. The programme concluded with a closing remark by the Permanent Secretary of Establishment, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Mohammed, who appreciated all stakeholders and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the scheme. This workshop marks a significant step in enhancing awareness and participation among civil servants in the formal sector health insurance scheme.
