*BOSCHMA Engages SHF Officials to Strengthen BHCPF Claims Processing* The Borno State Contributory Health Care Management Agency (BOSCHMA) organized a one-day engagement with Medical Directors (MDs) from Secondary Health Facilities (SHFs) to enhance their understanding of the claims process under the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF). The meeting aimed at streamlining claims procedures to ensure efficient healthcare service delivery across the state. The Executive Secretary of BOSCHMA, Dr. Saleh Abba Kaza, welcomed participants and emphasized the importance of collaboration between BOSCHMA and SHFs in improving healthcare access and ensuring timely claims processing. Delivering a goodwill message, Dr. Baba Shehu, Medical Director of State Specialist Hospital Maiduguri, who represented the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Borno State Hospital Management Board (HMB), Prof. Abubakar Kullima, commended BOSCHMA’s commitment to expanding healthcare accessibility in the state. Similarly, the Executive Secretary of the Borno State Drugs Management Agency (BODMA) highlighted the availability of essential drugs at BODMA stores and encouraged SHFs to procure medications from the agency rather than sourcing from external vendors. The event featured a presentation by Dr. Inna, Director of Standard and Quality Assurance (SQA), on strengthening the BHCPF referral protocol. She discussed key performance indicators and challenges SHFs face in managing BHCPF enrollees, focusing on improving the efficiency of claims processing. The session also provided an interactive platform for participants to raise concerns, share experiences, and seek clarification on various aspects of the claims process.
