The Board Members and Management Team of the Borno State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (BOSCHMA), led by the Board Chairperson, Hajiya Mairo Bunu Lawan, conducted an evaluation visit to healthcare facilities designated for BOSCHMA enrollees on Sunday, 21st December 2025.
The visit covered the following facilities: State Specialist Hospital Maiduguri (SSHM), Umaru Shehu Ultra-Modern Hospital (USUMH), Mohammed Shuwa Memorial Hospital (MSMH), Maryam Abatcha Women and Child Hospital (MAWCH), and Brigadier Abba Kyari General Hospital.
Prior to the visits, a briefing session was held at the BOSCHMA Conference Hall, which was attended by the Honourable Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Prof. Baba Mallam Gana. In his remarks, the Honourable Commissioner commended BOSCHMA for digitising its operations from the agency level down to healthcare facilities. He emphasized the importance of digitalisation in enhancing efficiency, transparency, and ease of service delivery, and assured the agency of the Ministry’s continued support.
During the evaluation visits, the hospitals showcased separate clinics specifically designated for BOSCHMA enrollees. The Board and Management team assessed the level of preparedness of the facilities and documented identified challenges that need to be addressed before the commencement of healthcare service delivery under the scheme.
The visit forms part of BOSCHMA’s ongoing efforts to ensure quality, readiness, and seamless service delivery for enrollees under the Contributory Healthcare Scheme.
