The Borno State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (BOSCHMA), in collaboration with key stakeholders, successfully hosted the 2nd Quarter BHCPF Gateway Forum Meeting at the Polio Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), Mamman Shuwa Memorial Hospital, Maiduguri.

The meeting commenced with opening remarks by the Chairman of the Gateway Forum, Professor M. Arab Alhaji, and the Co-Chairman/Executive Secretary of BOSCHMA, Dr. Saleh Abba Kaza, who emphasized the importance of collaboration, accountability, and sustained commitment to improving healthcare service delivery through the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF).
Goodwill messages were delivered by Dr. Largema, Director of Lafiya UK, and State NHIA BHCPF Focal Person Mr. Mohd Mohd. reaffirming their continued support for the successful implementation of BHCPF across Borno State. The ES BODMA, represented by DSQA- Pharmacist Habu, He assured the forum that the quality drugs and other medical consumables are available at a subsidized price at the State Medical Store (DMA).

The Executive Secretary of BOSCHMA, Dr. Saleh Abba Kaza, reviewed the minutes of the previous Gateway Forum meeting, highlighting resolutions reached and progress made since the last session.

A presentation on the BHCPF 2.0 Implementation was delivered by the Director of Standards and Quality Assurance (SQA), Dr. Inna Alimi, who provided updates on implementation strategies, achievements, and key operational challenges.

The Directors of Planning, Research and Statistics (DPRS) from the three Gateway clusters presented comprehensive progress reports, highlighting achievements, implementation experiences, and challenges requiring stakeholders' attention. In addition, 
Thlama Waindu of BOSCHMA presented the Agency's 2025 BHCPF Performance Report, revealing significant achievements, including:

• 135,449 beneficiaries enrolled under the BHCPF.

• ₦590,277,639.53 disbursed as capitation paid for 164 Primary Healthcare Facilities.

• ₦138,956,853.14 paid for Fee-for-Service claims to Secondary Healthcare Facilities.

• ₦250,692,036.00 expended on the procurement of essential medicines.

The meeting provided a platform for robust discussions, experience sharing, and recommendations aimed at strengthening BHCPF implementation, improving accountability, and expanding access to quality healthcare services across Borno State.
